ANZCA 2017 Notes on submissions of papers
The Conference Proceedings is a peer-reviewed online publication (ISSN 1448 4331). The full title of the 2017 publication will be: Refereed Proceedings of the Australian and New Zealand Communication Association Conference:Communication Worlds: Access, Voice, Diversity, Engagement, 2017
Authors are responsible for ensuring their papers adhere to the following guidelines.
Papers intended for the publication should be academically rigorous (i.e. theoretically and methodologically sound, thoroughly researched and referenced) but also accessible to anyone interested in communication and its implications. The Conference Proceedings will be publicly accessible and provide a showcase of the relevance of ANZCA and communication research to a wider audience, so please write clearly. Use plain English and, if you must use jargon, clearly explain its meaning. We reserve the right to edit your work for style before publication in the ANZCA 2017 conference proceedings.
Full papers submitted to ANZCA 2017 will be subject to double-blind peer review to assess their suitability for an international-standard refereed scholarly publication. Successfully refereed papers will be published in the refereed conference proceedings. Please note that there will be a single round of refereeing. If you would like guidance as to the suitability of your paper for the conference before submission, please contact the relevant stream coordinator.
Your paper for refereeing must be provided as a Microsoft Word document. Provide the title of the paper, the specific ANZCA stream to which you are targeting your paper, and an abstract of 250–500 words on the first page. Please eliminate any authorial identifying information from the submitted paper, including from title page, headers and footers, and document file names. This is in order to ensure blind refereeing, and failure to do this may lead to rejection of the paper.
The body of the paper should be double-spaced, and may be left-aligned or justified. Quotations should be in “double quotation marks” (not ‘single’) and paragraphs of cited text longer than 40 words should be indented. Please number all pages of your manuscript in the top right header. Suggested word count is 3000-5000 words, with papers to be no longer than 6000 words, including references cited.
Papers must be referenced in Harvard style.
